MUS 1001 MUSIC FOUNDATIONS

A study of the rudiments of music covering music notation of pitch, rhythm, dynamics and articula- tion. Emphasis will be placed on scales, keys and intervals as well as an introduction to triads and seventh chords including inversion, chord symbols, and figured Bass. Elementary keyboard skills will be covered as well as basic techniques of sight singing and an introduction to musical style periods. PREREQUISITE: MUSIC MAJOR OR MINOR OR PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR
