Principles and applications of Geographic Informa- tion Systems (GIS). Fundamentals of digital carto- graphy, spatial analysis, digital data. Acquiring, assembling, geo-referncing field data; topograph- ic maps; images from remote sensing. Emphasis on Earth and Human Systems; population, urban devel- opment and land use. (3 hr. lecture/ 3 hr. lab) Prerequisites:Math 1054, 4 hrs of Geoscience or permission of instructor.
