III. Catalog Course Description
This course is a continuation of MUSI 211. It continues the development of both solfege ability and aural perception of intervals, rhythms, chords, and chord progressions. Prerequisite: C or better in MUSI 211.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- The ability to read rhythms in compound meter.
- The ability to read notes in tenor clef
- The ability to read rhythms containing triplets and duplets at sight.
- The ability to sing melodies involving chromatic inflections on any scale degree
- Increased proficiency in melodic dictation, including dictations involving multiple voices.
- Increased proficiency in harmonic and rhythmic dictation.
- Increased proficiency in contextual listening.
