LING 114B Readings in Linguistics

Introduces reading the primary literature in a sub-discipline of linguistics. Topics vary by instructor interest and readings will vary as a result. Emphasis is on how to read technically difficult works, evaluate arguments, and appreciate competing views. Coursework includes readings, presentations, and short response papers. Enrollment is by permission of the instructor. Students should have completed appropriate upper-division courses in the relevant sub-disciplines; see instructor for recommendations.
