DST102 Introduction to the Interpreting Field
Provides general information about the field of interpreting, cross-cultural issues related to bilingual and bicultural mediation, and the role of the professional interpreter. Understanding of the interpreter's role and professional ethical standards as defined by the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf will be reviewed. Additionally, basic elements of the interpreting process will be introduced.
