GI Bill® In-State Tuition and Fees Policy
Effective August 1, 2021, Students utilizing GI Bill® benefits are eligible to receive in-state tuition and fee rates if they fall into one of the following categories:
- Veterans who live in Massachusetts (regardless of their formal state of residence) and are receiving educational assistance under Chapter 30 (Montgomery GI Bill® – Active Duty Program), Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation) or Chapter 33 (Post-9/11 GI Bill®)
- Dependents who live in Massachusetts (regardless of their formal state of residence) and are using transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits
- Dependents who live in Massachusetts (regardless of their formal state of residence) and are using benefits under the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship program
Students will be eligible to continue receiving these benefits so long as they remain continuously enrolled (other than regularly scheduled breaks between courses and semesters) at NECC. This policy has been established in accordance with Section 1005 of Public Law 116-315, the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D., Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 which modifies 38 U.S.C. 3679(c).
