This course provides a conceptual study of integers, integer operations, the relationship between fractions and decimals, rates, ratios, percents, proportions and related problems. Topics include integer operations and rational numbers, geometric applications, absolute value, exponents, square roots, Pythagorean Theorem,order of operations, rates, ratios, percents,proportions, conversion of English and Metricunits, and applications of the geometry of similar triangles. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of pertinent concepts and principles, apply the knowledge of the relationships between decimals, fractions, and percents, and use their understanding to solve conceptual applicationproblems.
