ED 559 Elementary Science Methods

Applied methods for teaching elementary science will be demonstrated using manipulatives, natural objects, computer technologies, and other tools of science and measurement. Students will study techniques for designing and implementing science lessons and units based on an inquiry model. In addition, questioning strategies, graphics, safety in the science classroom, and appropriate assessment strategies will be addressed. Field experience: 10 hours. Prerequisites: ED 500 and ED 509.
