PA 5251 PUBLIC STEWARDSHIP AND CROSS-SECTORAL GOVERNANCE

This course introduces students to the challenges faced by the federal, state, and local governments in the design and implementation of cross-sectoral public policies, and how public stewardship functions as an essential tool to produce beneficial policy outputs. Students will learn core concepts of public stewardship and cross-sectoral governance; the distinction between public stewardship and other theories of leadership and management; the pros and cons of involving multiple stakeholders in the policy process; and contemporary evidence-based solutions to old and new cross-sectoral challenges.
