Bridge to Success (formerly PASSPORT) Program

Freshman applicants seeking admission to Kean University who do not fully meet regular admission requirements, but who are determined to have potential to succeed academically, may be considered for the Bridge to Success Program. The mission of the Bridge to Success Program is to provide support for access to higher education and academic success to students matriculated at Kean University via an alternate admission category. The Bridge to Success Program enhances the University’s mission of access and excellence. The Program provides student-centered advising and counseling to assist students in developing intellectually, socially, culturally, and personally to reach the ultimate goal of completing the baccalaureate degree and entering the professional workforce or graduate studies.

The support services offered by the Bridge to Success Program complement those offered to all students by the University. Students admitted into the Bridge to Success Program are served for their four years of college study. In most cases, students are invited to participate in a Summer Academy which prepares them for the rigors of college. During the Summer Academy, students will take one credited course, attend psychoeducational workshops, and be given academic support, i.e. tutoring and peer guidance.

Intensive counseling and academic support services are scheduled throughout their time at Kean University. Admission to this program is at the discretion of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Students are admitted for the fall semester only. The University expects that all applicants offered admission register for the semester immediately following acceptance.
