ECO3820 THE ECON OF CRIM AND PUNISHMEN

A theoretical and empirical investigation into the economic forces that shape crime and punishment in the U.S. The course, using the tools of economic analysis, focuses on the social nexus of caitalism and crime, plutocracy and punishment, race and class; and how those relationships define, justify, and encourage the rise of the modern penal colony. Prerequisite: Economics one and two or permission of the instructor
