MGS 4041 BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS

In this course students are introduced to key concepts and approaches for modeling and improving business and for applying enterprise information systems to facilitate process improvement. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of process design and how to evaluate a process and fully document it. Students are introduced to business process modeling notation (BPMN) and to common enterprise resource planning information systems such as SAP. In addition, students will be introduced to dynamic processes and the use of social media information systems to support these processes. A secondary focus of the course is to introduce common best practice used by today's organizations to develop information technology (IT) services that match business requirements and their business process.
