Program Description
This Master’s program in Special Education with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Autism is designed for those for those who may not be a certified teacher and aim to be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) upon qualifying for and passing the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)’s BCBA exam (see www.BACB.com). This program prepares students who are interested in behavior analysis to meet the coursework requirements of the BACB examinations. This Master’s Program include a Verified Course Sequence ** (VCS, is a set of courses that has been verified by the Association for Behavior Analysis International as meeting specific coursework requirements, content hours, and faculty standards that meets coursework eligibility criteria for the BCBA coursework requirements as part of the application for BACB examinations) for the BACB’s Fourth Edition course sequence (through 12/21). Fifth edition course sequence approval pending. In addition to completion of coursework, BACB requires a specific degree and supervised fieldwork to qualify for their National Certification Exam.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the University’s admissions requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Three Letters of Recommendation (professional experience)
- An appropriate scholarly writing sample
- Professional resume/CV
- Personal Statement
- Official TOEFL or IELTS score reports (International Students ONLY)
