MUS 1551 STRING METHODS AND MATERIALS

Emphasis on stringed instrument playing proficiency and the method of teaching stringed instruments. The rudiments of playing stringed instruments will be stressed as well as historical overview of the string family. Literature appropriate for beginning and intermediate players will be examined. Primary emphasis will be placed on playing the violin and violincello. TYPE OF COURSE: Required for Music Education Major PREREQUISITE: Music Education Major or Permission of Instructor
