MGS 4130 INTRODUCTION TO TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT

This course examines concepts, tools, and techniques used in the management and measurement of quality, productivity, and competitiveness in an international environment. The course focuses on the management culture, philosophy, practices, and processes to develop a total quality orientation. Topics cover quality control and management, employee involvement in quality, productivity, and competitiveness, and statistical process control. Attention is given to such topics as communication, leadership, teamwork processes, ad organizational change. Emphasis is placed on the development of business decision-making skills, through the use of case analysis, projects and other experimental activities to understand the management of quality in organization.
