SUST 2200 INTRODUCTION TO LAWS & SUSTAINABILITY

An overview of the legal system and the laws that have been developed to protect the environment and public health. Will cover the interplay of courts, environmental agencies and legislatures, along with the role of attorneys and citizens, in the development of laws. Will review the current legal framework for regulating air, water, solid/hazardous wastes, and natural resources with related emerging concepts of sustainability. Prerequisite: SUST 1000, or permission of the instructor
