MGS 4150 INT TO SUP. CHAIN SRCG & PROG

This course aims to develop major strategies and techniques of purchasing and procurement management in Supply Chains. A supply chain consists of many different entities, ranging from raw material suppliers to final customers. Manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, producers and all those involved in the purchase, storage and distribution of goods, stocks and materials are effectively controlled and managed. Poor stock control and bad purchasing decisions can lead to the financial collapse of an organization whilst good stock control and procurement can enhance profitability and ensure long term growth. Purchasing and procurement relationships exist between internal fuctional groups, as well as with suppliers and/or customers. The focus of the course is on supply market intelligence, relationship assessment and management, negotiation,contracting, and managing conflict in business relationships in a globally integrated supply chain. The course emphasizes on collaboration and strategy execution, assessin, establishing metric/expectations, contracting, and managing external business relationships in sourcing, logistics and operatrions.
