HIST 4234 REVOLUTIONARY/SOVIET RUSSIA

Modernization and revolution in modern Russia from the first leveral reforms of Alexander II to the crises of the 1990s. Russia's participation in the critical moments of the last century; the industrial revolution, world wars, and the continuing ideological struggle between varying forms of liberalism and communism. The problems of continuity and change in modern Russia since 1917 highlighted by readings and discussions. Prerequisite: Six hours of history "Former Title": (Revolutionary and Soviet Russia)
