FA 3920 ART AND SPECIAL NEEDS IN EDUCATION

Understanding artistic process, materials, and multisensory teaching methods as they apply to classrooms containing students having special needs, with an emphasis on autism as a prominent area of concern. Modes of visual, tactual, and kinesthetic activities that can shape instructional design are addressed. Course integrates lecture, hands-on studio experiences, discussions, presentations, and written papers. Type of Course: Required for Education Majors with Art as Content Area, elective for all others. Permission of Instructor
