ES 2101 GEO-HYDRO SYSTEMS

A study of the earth?s geo-hydro systems from the perspective of system analysis. Examination of the dynamics of the systems, human-environment interactions, resource management, and connections with the biological and chemical systems. The physical, geological, chemical, and biological processes that occur within geological and hydrological systems. A study of the earth?s geo-hydro systems from the perspective of system analysis. Examination of the dynamics of the systems, human-environment interactions, resource management, and connections with the biological and chemical systems. The types of soils and how these relate to soil formation and processes. Inorganic and organic soil components complex equilibria in soil solutions and adsorption phenomena at the solid-water interface. Components and processes are related to integrated environmental systems. (3hrs lecture. 3 hours lab) Major requirement for B.S. in Earth Science and Sustainability Science Prerequisite: ES 1101
