ENG 3232 SPECIAL TOPICS IN WOMEN AND LITERATURE

A shell course for the study of literature by and about women. Each course within the shell will focus upon one of the broad thematic concerns women face, exploring special topics such as: Gender Bias and Patriarchal Definitions of Women?s Roles; Mental Illness in Women?s Literature; 19th Century Women?s Literature; Reclaiming Literary Place of Women Writers, Women, Gender and Sexuality, Feminist Criticism and Theory, Race, Class, and Gender in Literature by and about Women, etc. The topics will vary by semester. This course may be taken for credit more than once provided the topics studies differ. Prerequisites: ENG 2403 or equivalent REVISED: 05/05/15
