CHEM 3190 MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY
COURSE : CHEM 3190 SEMESTER HOURS: Three(3) ENROLLMENT LIMIT: 24 PREREQ: CHEM 2582 and either BIO 2200 OR CHEM 3581 or permission of instructor MAJOR ELECTIVE for CHEMISTRY MAJOR Medicinal Chemistry focuses on the relationships between structures of organic molecules and their functions in biological systems. The course will provide an overview of the drug development process from research bench to patient ingestion. This will include the investigation of small molecule interaction with relevant biological targets, efficacy, absorption, metabolism, toxicity, and pharmacokinetics. (3hr.lecture)
