CHEM 2582 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY II
Organic Chemistry II Course Number: Chem 2582 Semester Hours: Three (3) Prerequisites: A grade of "C" or better Chem 2581 Required for the Chemistry major. Catalog Description Chem. 2182 Organic Chmistry Lecture II (3) The second half of a two-semester sequence in organic chemistry for science majors. The remaining organic fuctional groups including aldehydes & ketones, carboylic acids, acyl halides, anhyrides, esters, amides and amines are covered. More emphasis is placed on synthesis. The course may also include an intorduction to the biochemistry of carbohydrates, lipids, protein and nucleic acids.(3hr. lecture) Prerequisites: A grade of "C" or better in Chemistry 2581 PREV.
