III. Catalog Course Description
This course continues the integration of CAM and machining on both VAM and Lathes using imported solid models. Students will use Mastercam to program the 4th axes and machining irregular surfaces to include mold making. Introduction to programming the 5th axes and Lathes with live tooling
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Students will exhibit programing techniques using Mastercam to create toolpaths to successfully machine parts.
- Students will understand how 3D solid modeling is used to increase production and improve efficiency in CAM systems.
- Students will create programs for the 4th axes and irregular surfaces on the VMC to include machining molds.
- Students will develop toolpaths and successfully machine parts to given specifications.
- Students will demonstrate machining capabilities on both the VMC and CNC Lathe by successfully producing parts to stated specifications.
