This course will review and practice all the financial accounting skills learned throughout the Accounting/Bookkeeping program. Emphasis will be placed on accurately preparing financial statements using accounting software. Real-world source documents will be used to prepare financial statements, payroll reports, and finally a tax return. This course will review and practice all the financial accounting skills learned throughout the Accounting/Bookkeeping program. Emphasis will be placed on accurately preparing financial statements using accounting software. Real-world source documents will be used to prepare financial statements, payroll reports, and finally a tax return. This is the final course in the Accounting/Bookkeeping program and should be taken during the student’s last term.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- Prepare accurate financial reports from source documents.
- Complete the entire accounting cycle to prepare an accurate set of financial statements from source documents.
- Accurately prepare a basic individual tax return from source documents.
- Analyze, calculate and prepare all aspects of payroll including gross pay, net pay, and all required payroll reports.
- Proficiently use an electronic accounting software.
- Prepare to write and speak professionally.
V. Topical Outline (Course Content)
Students will be provided source business documents that will be used to prepare financial statements, including payroll reports. Students will complete this work both manually and in accounting software

Monthly financial statements, quarterly payroll reports, and a tax return must be accurately prepared. No incomplete work will be accepted.
