Understand the different elements of sanitation in a food processing plant
Understand the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and how to develop and manage the HACCP plans for the food processing facility.
Understand GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) in a food laboratory and learn how to conduct several common tests for protein, fat and moisture/solids analysis.
Understand the importance of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), what are they, and how to audit a food plant for common GMPs.
Understand Programming Logic Controllers, how to troubleshoot and use HMIs (human machine interfaces)
Develop critical thinking and troubleshooting skills for equipment, maintenance, and auditing a facility.
Get the ability through internships and projects to work with local food processing facilities.
