This course focus on managing and directing care for diverse populations with medical/surgical problems and preparation for nursing practice.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Provides and directs nursing care that enhances the care delivery setting to protect clients and health care personnel
  • Provides and directs nursing care that protects clients and health care personnel from health and environmental hazards
  • Provides and directs nursing care that incorporates knowledge of expected growth and development principles, prevention and/or early detection of health problems, and strategies to achieve optimal health
  • Provides and directs nursing care that promotes and supports the emotional, mental and social wellbeing of the client experiencing stressful events, as well as clients with acute or chronic mental illness
  • Provides and directs nursing care that promotes physical health and wellness by providing comfort and assistance in the performance of the activities of daily living
