Program Overview:
Graduates of the Surgical Technology program at the College of Southern Idaho will find placement in the fast-paced operating room environment. This part of our surgical services includes a nationally accredited AAS degree program that instructs the student in various aspects of surgery including aseptic technique, instrumentation, procedures, anatomy, and microbiology. Upon completion graduates will be eligible for national certification testing. This is a “portable” career and our graduates are in demand nationwide.

Program Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Surgical Technology program, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate entry-level cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains necessary for entry into the field of surgical technology.
- Demonstrate compliance with the criteria set forth in the most current standards and guidelines for an accredited educational program in surgical technology.
- Qualify for national certification testing for surgical technology.
Course Performance Requirements:
To promote success on the certification/licensure examination(s), all Required Courses must be passed with a grade of C or better.

Program Requirements for Admission:
Applying to this program is a separate application process from applying to the College. You will not be able to declare this program as your major until you have met with the program director.
