HREC 243 Backpacking

This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in a backpacking activity, serving as a solid introductory course for the beginning backpacker and good refresher course for participants with backpacking experience. The course will cover the history, philosophy, rules, fundamental/progression of techniques, strategy, and safety in the activity of backpacking. The course includes a backpacking excursion. This course may be repeated once.
