HREC 146 Intermediate Climbing

This course prepares the climber to safely climb on his or her own in an unsupervised setting and builds upon the basic skills learned in PHYE 143A. Course content includes safely evaluating a climb, building anchor systems, rope management, reppelling, self rescue, and improving climbing technique. The course includes at least one multi-day trip to local climbing areas. Students must furnish or rent basic climbing equipment. This course includes a course fee. Prerequisite: HREC 145, or instructor permission.
