POE-301 Constitutional Law II
A deep and complex examination of the principles of American constitutional law concerning civil liberties and civil rights through a careful study of Supreme Court decisions: due process, rights of the accused, equal protection, freedom of expression, and freedom of religion. Though POE-300 is NOT a prerequisite for POE-301, students must have a good understanding of US political institutions prior to taking this course and be able to read and independently make sense of difficult Supreme Court opinions and Court briefs. Due to the demanding nature of this course, at least two years of college experience is highly recommend.
