ARH-300 Modern Art
A history of modern art from Realism and Impressionism to the present. Modernist movements to be considered will include Post-Impressionism, French and German Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Constructivism, Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop, and Minimalism. The course will conclude by examining how Post-Modernist ideas have affected art since the 1970s and challenged Modernist premises.
