British Studies Specialization
The British Studies specialization is an interdisciplinary exploration of British society and culture drawing upon courses in history, literature, and music history. Students who select the British Studies specialization choose from a diverse range of courses including studies of Celtic music, Shakespeare, crime literature, ghost stories, the English Civil War, and the British Empire. Furthermore, students may enhance their classroom experiences with overseas studies such as the College of Idaho’s IND 307, IND 320, or IND 325 courses.
Anyone interested in developing a rich perspective on the history, politics, and creative expressions of the British Isles through multiple disciplines will find the British Studies specialization rewarding. Students with majors or PEAK minors in business, art history, history, English, pre-law, and music just to name a few will find the British Studies minor a particularly complementary addition to their program of study. Courses contributing to the British Studies specialization are offered every semester, and most students will have little difficulty incorporating the British Studies specialization into their academic programs.
