THE-310 Costume Design
Costume Design is an essential part of the
theatrical experience. The clothing an actor
wears is another color in the theatrical palette
that can reinforce time, place and style. By
developing strong artistic choices through
patterns, draping and fashion history, the
costumer works with the artistic team in creating
a unified environment that enhances the story
being told. Students will learn how to evolve a
character from the written text to a color
rendering. Costume history and various rendering
mediums will be explored.
Prerequisites: THE-201 and THE-140.
