Music Performance Minor

PSE PEAK

12-16 credits (Total may not include prerequisite courses)

Prerequisites:

• Declared Music Major
• Successful completion of lower-division applied lessons
• Application and permission following the Sophomore Spring Jury

Students must complete the "Petition to Begin the Music Performance Minor" form available through the music office or applied instructor.   Permission is granted by those administering the Sophomore Spring Jury.

MUSAP-330	Applied Music III	0.5-1 credits
MUSAP-430	Applied Music IV	0.5-1 credits
MUS-341	Beginning Conducting	2 credits
MUS-390	Junior Recital	1-2 credits
MUS-490	Senior Recital	1-3 credits
MUS-497	Internship	1-3 credits

MUS-497: intended for working with professional or community organizations An internship course also counts toward the completion of the music major.

Violin, Viola, or Cello

Complete the following courses:

MUS-337	Practicum Orchestral Literature Violin, Viola, Cello	1 credit
MUS-443	String Pedagogy and Practicum	1 credit

MUS-337: 2 Semesters, 1 credit per semester

Voice

Complete the following courses:

MUS-215	Survey of Opera History	3 credits
