IND-299T.1 SpTop: Islamic Civilization

This course examines contemporary issues in Muslim societies. It explores a wide range of cultural values and expressions shown by Muslim societies around the world and Asia in particular. It considers the dynamic dialogue and engagement between Islamic norms as prescribed in the Qur'an and found in local socio-cultural contexts. It also highlights the role of Muslim women in the process of shaping and reshaping Islamic civilization. (Note:This course is a one-time offering sponsored by a Fulbright Visiting Specialist Program Grant made available to the College of Idaho).
