Core Requirements
Music Core (32 credits)
MUS-001: Take during each semester of enrollment
Complete 6 credits from the following:
ENSEMBLE-
| (Chorale, Sinfonia, Instrumental Jazz) | 6 credits |
Students with music scholarships may be required to take additional semesters of applied lessons and ensembles to maintain their scholarships which may not count toward the major.
Complete 1 credit from the following:
48 credits (Total does not include prerequisite courses)
Applied Lessons and Music Education Courses (16 credits)
Music Core (32 credits)
Students in the Concentration in Teaching for Vocalists are required to take 6 credits of ensemble instead of the 8 in the Music Core.
Complete 8 semesters of the following:
MUSAP-130, MUSAP-230, MUSAP-330, MUSAP-430: 2 Semesters
Students with music scholarships may be required to take additional semesters of applied lessons and ensembles to maintain their scholarships which may not count toward the major.
Complete 12 credits from the following Music Education Courses:

Students desiring to pursue the study of music education should complete the music major core requirements and take additional courses as described above. Students desiring certification in secondary music education must complete this major, a minor in education, and a fifth-year internship after graduation. These students should also have an advisor in the Education Department.
