Course Section Numbers

Understanding Section Numbers: Section numbers are made up of three parts: the subject prefix, the course number, and the course section number. In the case of BIO-111-204, the section number is 204.

Traditional courses (also called seated courses) are typically offered on campus and meet face-to-face with an instructor. Traditional section numbers are as follows: 100, 200, 411-449, 511-529 and 800.

Online section numbers are as follows: 401, 501-510, 550-569.
