Fire Protection Technology - Fire Prevention Certificate (C55240B)

This certificate program will provide industrial and municipal firefighters and brigade members the technical information to inspect plant facilities and make recommendations. Plant Emergency Organization operations and other safeguards will be covered.

All certificate courses are creditable toward the associate degree that the College is approved to offer.

Program Outcomes:

  1. Analyze the history of the fire service and prevention and identify key events that have shaped present day fire protection.
  2. Distinguish between the different types of extinguishing agents, fire protection systems, and their applications, as well as their utilization during an emergency response.
  3. Illustrate the various aspects of fire prevention and their importance to life safety.
