Medical Office Administration - Medical Auditing and Compliance (AAS) A25310A
The Medical Office Administration - Medical Auditing and Compliance curriculum track prepares individuals for employment as regulatory and compliance professionals within healthcare organizations.
Students receive in-depth training in healthcare regulations, medical necessity, health and privacy laws, and compliance practices. Emphasis is placed on regulatory control and compliance issues as well as Medicare regulations related to billing. Coursework also includes computer applications, oral and written communication, medical terminology, electronic health records, introductory healthcare management, and healthcare customer relations.
Graduates should qualify for employment opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings including medical offices, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare related organizations. Students may be eligible to sit for an industry recognized certification, such as the Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) or the Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) exam, upon graduation.
