EN 200 Approaches to Literary Study

This course is an introduction to the essential elements of literary analysis and a variety of critical approaches to literature in poetry and prose. It cultivates an awareness of literary study as a discipline and the conventions of literary research and writing. It also develops and refines skills of close critical reading and logical argumentation. Open to English majors and minors only. English majors must earn a grade of C or better.
