III. Catalog Course Description
This course is designed to offer exposure into clinical environments and offer students to witness first-hand the knowledge and skills that they acquire throughout the Paramedic lecture and Paramedic Lab series. These opportunities also give the opportunity to demonstrate student’s affective domain.
IV. Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
- At the completion of this course, the paramedic student will understand the roles and responsibilities of a Paramedic within an EMS system, apply the basic concepts of development, pathophysiology and pharmacology to assessment and management of emergency patients, be able to properly administer medications, and communicate effectively with patients.
- At the completion of this course, the paramedic student will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles of pharmacology and the assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement a pharmacologic management plan.
- At the completion of this course, the paramedic student will be able to take a proper history and perform a comprehensive physical exam on any patient, and communicate the findings to others.
- At the completion of this coures, the paramedic student will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for the trauma patient.
- At the completion of this course, the paramedic student will be able to safely manage the scene of an emergency.
