NURS 449L Pediatric Nursing Clinical
This course provides the framework for students to apply nursing theory and principles in promoting, maintaining, and restoring health for infants, children, and their families. Students will integrate concepts of bio-psycho-social-cultural-developmental-spiritual sciences to provide evidence-based, holistic, and compassionate nursing care. Clinical experience in acute or community pediatric settings contextualizes learning and facilitates clinical reasoning, decision-making, and comportment through the application and integration of nursing science and caring practice.
This one-credit clinical course includes 84 hours of clinical learning. 64 hours will take place in the off-site clinical placement, and 10 hours will take place on-site in the Simulation Lab. Per MA BORN, 1 hour in on-site clinical (Sim Lab) is equivalent to 2 hours in the off-site placement.
