The Senior Care Specialist Certificate program is designed for students who express an interest in working with Adults over the age of 65. Students may already be working with this population therefore this Certification will provide them with a skilled credential that will set them apart from their co-workers. The curriculum content includes human service core courses and population specific topics. It is integrated with the National Community Support Skill Standards. All 19 credits, required for the certificate, can be applied to the Associate Degree in Human Services. Completing the Certification will enhance a student's ability to provide person centered care and support that will address the specific age related needs of an adult over the age of 65.
Students must earn a grade of C- or better in all HUS courses in order to graduate.
