This interdisciplinary humanities elective delves into the rich tapestry of yoga, weaving together its physical, philosophical, spiritual, and cultural dimensions. Through a blend of asana (body postures) practice, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and reading and writing assignments, students will explore the historical evolution of yoga, its foundational concepts, and its global impact. The emphasis will be on a consistent yoga and meditation practice to be academically understood and experientially applied. Students will engage with ancient texts and modern interpretations, while reflecting on how yoga shapes our understanding of mind, body, and society.
