PH 345 God, Faith and Reason
Can religious beliefs be rational? How have philosophers tried to prove that God exists? How can we experience the divine? Can there be evidence of miracles? Is immortality possible? Why does God allow innocents to suffer? How are religious beliefs related to moral judgments? This course describes and evaluates some of the major philosophical questions concerning the religious dimension of human existence. Prerequisite: One prior course in philosophy.
