ACCT 2232 COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES
This course details the processes involved in setting up new company files, preferences, and charts of accounts in a computerized environment. Students will be given an opportunity for hands-on practice in processing the following accounting activities: purchases and payables, sales and receivables, payroll, banking, general accounting, and reporting. This course will also emphasize the use of tools available in QuickBooks to analyze company performance and produce financial statements. The course also introduces the student to other aspects of accounting and related business procedures, such as database management. The use of computerized spreadsheets to prepare and analyze financial statements will be stressed. Electronic spreadsheets will also be used to
create charts and graphs for business decision making. The concept of ethics and its role in financial accounting will be emphasized throughout this course.
