CDD 5281 DEVELOPMENTAL LANGUAGE DISORDERS II: SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

The ability to use spoken and written language at a discourse level with clarity, precision, and confidence in social, academic, and professional settings is a basic human right and a necessity for academic and vocational success. Students will learn how to gain insight into the unique strengths and needs that individual speakers display so that as future professionals they can plan meaningful and relevant intervention activities for school-age children and adolescents. Literacy acquisition, disorders of written language along with assessment and intervention approaches will also be reviewed.
