THE 3240 THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

Introduction to theory and practice of creating Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA). The course will analyze a broad range of dramatic literature written for young audiences, evaluate sample TYA aesthetics in scripts, video, and live performance. Included is the development of writing skills needed to professionally critique theatre performance. The course also examines the history and practices of the professional TYA industry. Purchase of theatre tickets required for attendance at on and off campus performances.
