FSC 3500L FORENSIC ENTOMOLOGY LABORATORY

This course represents the lab component of Forensic Entomology (FSC*3500). Students will learn fundamental practical and laboratory techniques to collect, preserve and examine entomological evidence. Students will set up rearing chambers for forensically significant insects and will learn how to identify them morphologically using dissecting microscopes and dichotomous keys. Students will conduct analyses and calculations to estimate the Time of Colonization (TOC) and will present their results in a forensic report.
